What is a Hand-Painted Portrait?

A Hand Painted Pet Portrait is a one-of-a-kind, digital painting created from your photograph by an academy-trained artist. The average experience of our digital artists is 15 years!

Once created, your Personalized Painting is printed on high-quality canvas, then hand embellished with clear acrylicto add real brushwork texture to each piece. Your canvas is then "wrapped" around a wooden stretcher bar with part of your painting visible on the sides of the frame.

What is "digital painting"?

Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques are applied using digital tools by means of a computer or graphics tablet, special brushes, and software. Digital paintings resemble traditional paintings, especially when transferred to canvas.

How long does it take to produce my Hand-Painted Artwork?

Please allow us seven (7) days to create your masterpiece! Delivery times depend on the delivery service selected.

Can I order my Hand-Painted Artwork framed?

Yes! You can order your piece framed in a black, glassless wooden float frame. We add a small (1/2") area between the canvas and the frame (called the "float") to create an interesting visual detail and a sense of three dimensional depth in the overall display. A float frame separates your personalized painting from its surroundings and draws attention to the artwork itself.

Can I order my Hand-Painted Artwork unframed?

Absolutely. Both framed and unframed, your personalized painting is "gallery wrapped" around a wooden stretcher bar, with part of your painting visible on the sides of the frame.

Do I have multiple frame options?

Not at this time - The only option is the Float Frame.

Are filters used, e.g. photoshop filters, when creating my Hand-Painted Artwork?

No. Each brushstroke is created by hand, and filters are never used to create your personalized painting. Filters use calculations (algorithms) to change the appearance of digital images, but are no substitute for painting by hand.

What does "hand embellishment" mean?

After your digital painting is printed to canvas, an artist will use a traditional paint brush and clear medium to add decorative detail to the artwork. The embellishment technique follows the brushwork of the artist, giving depth and texture to your piece, and mimicking many of the qualities of a hand-painted traditional painting.

What type of canvas do you use?

We print on high-end artist canvas, with an acid-free and pH neutral coating

Is my Hand-Painted Artwork protected from harmful UV rays?

Yes! We hand-apply a protective UV coating to reduce the potential damage caused by UV exposure. Although no protective coating eliminates the all potential damage from UV rays, UV coatings can significantly help reduce UV damage.

What sheen is applied to my Hand-Painted Artwork?

We use a "gloss" sheen for both your UV coating and acrylic embellishment medium. this sheen allows for the closest look and feel to a traditional, hand-painted original painting.

What size options do I have?

Frame Sizes:

  • 13.75" x 19.75"
  • 17.75" x 21.75"
  • 21.75" x 31.75"
  • 25.75" x 37.75"

Unframed sizes:

  • 12" x 18"
  • 16" x 20"
  • 20" x 30"
  • 24" x 36"

These dimensions can be used when determining how much space on the wall your piece will occupy. When framed, your piece will be 1 3/4" in depth, and 1 3/8" in depth when unframed. These dimensions can be used when determining how far off the wall your piece will "stick out".

Can I order a custom size?

We do not offer custom sizes at this time.

Is my Hand-Painted Artwork ready to hang?

Yes. Each piece comes with hangers and corner bumpers.

What if I'm not happy with my Hand-Painted Artwork?

We want you to be thrilled with your painting. But if you're not, just reach out and we'll make it right. Contact Us for more information

Can I ask for changes to the image?

This is not currently supported.

Can I edit my painting before it's complete?

We do not currently have a proofing option. However, if you're not completely thrilled with your painting, just contact us and we'll make it right.

Does the price change depending on the content in the painting?

No! Prices are fixed regardless of the image content.

Can I hang my Hand-Painted Artwork anywhere?

Yes, but we recommend keeping your piece away from high humidity and direct sunlight.
